EMP Gaskets

From $70.00$260.00

Conductive gaskets are built with conductive fabric placed over flexible foam. They have an adhesive backing (a small strip pulls off like a sticker). They can be used to seal ad-hoc Faraday cages, including metal garbage cans, gun safes, and ammo cans. The important point when buying a gasket is to ensure that it fits. You want it to create a conductive seal along the inside of a gap or joint. That means that the ideal physical geometry of the gasket depends on what you’re trying to seal.

Gaskets are non-returnable. Please be sure of size before ordering.

(International buyers please EMAIL ME about purchasing.)

Sealing Galvanized Garbage Can

Image showing two 0.23″ gaskets spliced on the inside sidewall of the lid.

Galvanized Garbage Can Gaskets – seen in video and photo above
Two gaskets, 0.23″ (W) x 39.37″ (L) x 0.079″ (T). These are the thin gaskets I used in the trash can video.

Sealing Large Ammo Can

Large Ammo Can Gaskets – seen in video above

Two gaskets, 0.67″ (W) x 39.37″ (L) x 0.279″ (T). These are the thick gaskets I used in the ammo can video.

Sealing Small Ammo Can

Small Ammo Can Gasket – seen in photo above
One gasket, 0.2″ (W) x 39.37″ (L) x 0.16″ (T). One gasket is enough for small ammo can.

Gun Safe Gaskets

I used 4, 0.39″ (W) x 39.37″ (L) x 0.11″ (T) for the demonstration in the video. For reference, the door on the gun safe in the demonstration is 24” wide and around 54” tall.

A few questions that I am often asked:

1. How does a gasket work? A conductive gasket helps to conductively seal gaps and seams through which radiated EMP energy might enter the Faraday cage.

2. What can they be used for? Gaskets can be used to seal a variety of enclosures, including garbage cans, safes, and ammo cans.

3. How well do they work? Gaskets do an excellent job of sealing Faraday cages (see video below).

4. Do you make the gaskets? No. I simply resell the product that I found to be optimal for this application.

5. Can I trust that these are the best gaskets out there? I reviewed about twenty gaskets, and all of them worked well. I specifically tested the smallest of these in the lid of a galvanized garbage can. They did well because they don’t interfere with the opening and closing of the can. Larger gaskets are also offered for other applications.

6. How big are they? The dimensions of each gasket is described in the Buy Now menu. If you need something different than what’s offered, please send me a note.
